The past week or so I have been drowning myself in my newly bought CSI (as in the original; not NY…and god forbid, Miami) dvds. Even though it was only three seasons, it still was a lot to watch and I enjoy every single bits of it (duster: …I want to watch it with you TAT).

Now I got that out of my system, I did watch the two new summer anime (well ok, there are more, but from my list, only two were aired at the moment), Bakemonogatari and CANAAN. Both were visually stunning as well as having a compelling story, but because I’m not fond of the director for Bakemonogatari, CANAAN wins this round for being my summer favorite. If anyone got time, check both anime out, they are quite unique in their own ways which is also the reason why I randomly doodled in pchat…again.
(edit: “yeah… i can only think of her(another girl from CANAAN)in the pic…” -duster)

Just finish watching the last episode of K-ON! thought I should at least give a quick review… I think this review is going to be much shorter than the last one, because of how much I hated half of the episodes aired after episode eight. Here is the thing, I understand there are drama in life, but forcing drama in life is just too much and unnecessary. K-ON! fall into that category in few of the episodes, which bothers me greatly since this isn’t Clannad.

Let’s start with the opening. The opening was purposely done to where all the characters are nicely framed on screen. Why forcefully shove Azusa in there with the crew? Now everyone is just cramp together and or blocking each other. Good thing they never mess with the ending, or else it will destroy the whole show. If that were to happen, I held Yoshida Reiko (吉田玲子) to be responsible. Ever since her dreadful screenplay for episode two, she never bother to climb back up. Episode nine and eleven almost killed me. What’s with the drama of Azusa of not understanding the Light Music Club? Not to mention the yuri vibe of Mio and Ritsu in episode eleven. Ritsu was so out of character, almost feel like you are watching a horrible fanfiction come to life. Nonetheless, Muramoto Katsuhiko(村元克彦) and Hanada Jukki(花田十輝) had came and save the day! Muramoto handled the second beach episode, which I thought it was not badly done. The episode show the details of what we didn’t see the girls did in their first beach house, like what they cooked and ate. Then the small detail of where Mio found out her hands are bigger than everyone else, etc etc. It was not as fun to watch as the first beach episode but it was whole lot better than whatever episode nine and eleven was showing. Then finally, today’s last episode was done by Hanada, and frankly speaking, he saved K-ON! Everything I love about K-ON! was in this episode. The feel, the framing, the music, everything.

Dear god, KyotoAnimation if you ever make a second season of K-ON! let Hanada and Muramoto be the screenwriter. I cannot handle Yoshida doing a 4koma anime. Maybe a drama, but comedy just doesn’t seem to suit her. Over all the show was not bad but not great either. Just wish they chose a better lead screenwriter. I would still recommend this to people who likes comedy.

For the past few days I didn’t get any chance touch Photoshop because I was helping to build a garden, which is the reason why this post might lack some “art.” No worries, you’ll still see images, thought it’s something everyone should know about. So here are some entertainment news.

As of today, episode eight of K-ON! had aired, which happen to have a good transition to give a review of my thoughts on the show so far because the girls in the Light Music Club are finally in their second year of high school, but how was their first year?

Spring show actually started yesterday, but there wasn’t anything interesting that I wanted to see. However, today it’s a different story. There were three shows aired that was on my schedule/list, and from all of that I only fell in love with one. K-ON!

K-ON! is similar to Lucky Star, by no means of story, presented as 4コマ. However, because the director is different, the first episode is actually very smooth and the story flows. It didn’t feel like 4コマ at all, unlike the beginning of Lucky Star. Then what made it even better is that there is less dancing in the opening and ending. Yes I’m actually a bit sick of dancing openings/endings, because if you seen one you seen it all. Then what’s worst about it was showing the director running out of ideas (i.e. kannagi, lucky star). So with K-ON! actually have an ending that fits the characters and of what they are aiming for. It made it much more enjoyable.

Ensei: I think I’m totally gay for the girl (Mio) with black hair =D
Duster: yeah I know what you mean, I think I’m gay for her too…
