I just want to let everyone know I’m not dead, neither is duster, since I just talked to her few hours ago. Anyways, I won’t be posting any drawings for a good while, because I guess I was on crack when I agreed to help a professor on his project which is not related to any of my classes. So no drawings until I get other things out of the way first.
Let’s not talk about school right now. What I want to share had actually appeared on the net for awhile now – since TGS (Tokyo Game Show). By now I’m sure majority of you had already seen it, but for those who haven’t heard anything about it, here is another gorgeous trailer from Final Fantasy XIII that’s coming out on Dec. 17th in Japan (North America release will be around March of next year).

For the past few days I didn’t get any chance touch Photoshop because I was helping to build a garden, which is the reason why this post might lack some “art.” No worries, you’ll still see images, thought it’s something everyone should know about. So here are some entertainment news.

I would advice everyone to drop everything they are planning to do on June 24th, 2009 (the less improtant events of course), because that is the day when Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen comes out and it deserves the attention Michael Bay had build for. I swear the newest trailer made me cry inside, because it’s insanely beautiful. So glad I decided to stay with the Computer Graphics major ( T vT)9

Asides hanging out with friends, I also got my hands on the newly released resident evil series. After playing through the first time, I went and read the reviews from the usual source for gaming. Most of them given the game a good score – a bit too good of a score. However, XPlay which I watched on TV had given an unreasonable score. Now, I’m not going to bitch and whine about how it’s not fair, but I do want to point out some of the things that they said seems a bit odd.

Finally watched the long anticipated Watchmen with friend over the break. Have read the views from all the critics I was able to find, I got stuck with another dilemma. I wasn’t able to 100% agree or disagree with any of them. The movie follows the comic very closely, which made the movie ended up being three hours long. Some complained it was too long, however, when I watched it I did not feel what I felt during the first Lord of the Ring movie – with me fall asleep not even half way through. Although I do admit, it could have been a bit shorter.
The visual was great, everything portrayed well in the fictional 80’s America. I heard/read that many people were very uncomfortable with the sex scene and fully nude Mr.Manhattan. I think the reason was because it was ok reading it on paper where you only looking at unmoving figure, while here everything is vivid, perhaps a bit too much? Although I really think everyone should look that aside, the director/screenwriter only follows what is proper from the original graphic novel. Also I felt bad for the people who had modeled, rigged, and animated Mr.Manhattan, America salutes you.
Last but not least. After watching the movie, my very first reaction was déjà vu back to Code Geass R2. Having that said I probably already spoiler the ending for everyone. If so I’m sorry. There really isn’t a better way to describe the story in a simpler form. So if you are interested in Code Geass, then I think Watchmen might be the movie for you.
